this week, we had an event called the ko-pln night. It was on Thursday..... Eh, Wednesday. We were told like 1 week before but the plan on came into discussion 3 days or 2 days before, should be 3 i think. It was like a competition between courses. As usual, our course has the least students, 50+ adding all 4 groups together (we are broken into 4 groups for the Ko-pln thingy, it's like an outdoor activity club that kinda stuff). Then, other courses like Ausmat, ALG, and others got like more than 10 groups, i even remember 1 of them got like 14 or 16 groups, siao 1, so many, lol. Putting that aside, we (the musicians) left the sketch for them (our coursemates) to settle and 6 of us decided to have a band (actually 4 of us la, the other 2 was kinda forced in, hahaha). It was sudden but still we tried it. We had many troubles but we knocked them off with strong determination. At times, at the brink of giving up, hope came back, somehow, lol. I became the drummer and that's pretty funny. I only remembered having the experience of playing it when i was in standard 5 or 6 which is only like.... 1 week training (means 3 hours and a half?) if you add up the whole thing, meaning i have the slightest basics for a drummer to have and of cuz i am delighted and honoured to be given the chance to play the drum when my roommate is a much much better drummer than me. Yet he is very supportive, helping in our last minute training, more to training me though and provided multiple ideas which an amateur drummer like me wont think off at all. 1st thing 1st, i'm living in the middle of nowhere and we're not from the music faculty. So, we couldn't have real band training at all. All i have was a pair of drum sticks and tables to hit on. That's obviously insufficient cuz you still need to the have bass to work on which is the leg part. Next problem, we have a 2nd guitarist who's new to playing guitar too but he has a guitar and it was fortunate, that's great. Other than that, we kinda dont have any problem except not having a vocalist. We have no singer!!! Nvm, soon that was solved by randomly calling a girl, our coursemate to take up that role. Another problem was not having a keyboard (musical 1, not computer keyboard). So, that's kinda a lot of problem actually to settle in 2 days, lol. On that night we were told about the sketch, we had an immediate training and decided on playing Houki Boshi by Bleach (we dont give a damn even if the other courses dun understand what we're singing, wakakka).
That night, the training went well i suppose but after listening to the song more, i decided to add in more rolling cuz i do really damn basic drumming. So, ask my roommate to help and he agreed, awesome. Then, we also wrote a letter wanting to borrow instruments from the music faculty. So, the next day we submitted the letter and the letter stated that we wanted it on that day, lol. So, we tried la but in the end failed cuz the procedure stated that it should be sent 1 week before (and we wanted it on that very day, haha). Even if we did, i bet it would be rejected becuz the music faculty students have exams and needed it very much but i still agreed with my roommate saying that they should have a spare set for students from other courses to borrow it too cuz this college has a lot of activities going on after all. At the same time, of cuz they can use that spare to train also la. Since failed, we had 2 instruments that are unavailable, keyboard and drum set. Keyboard was settled by night time because we have a senior having it. So, we borrowed it (ah... this part kinda screwed up, i'll explain later). Then, once we got back by 4 something pm like that, we went to the computer room after an early dinner to search for a jamming studio. After 2 hours, the hardwork paid off (seriously it wasnt easy, we walked search for it and went back to the computer room to search for more after that alternative failed). We got a reliable line soon and rented the drum but it was for the following day's training.
The next day came and we got the drum during lunch break, about 1pm+. Immediately, we started the real training, having the full band. Oh ya, the night before, we really lost a lot of training time due to the search for instruments, lasted until late night man, damn... but got train also until 12 something. That time, only got start making modification in my drumming but a bit oni that time. Then, when drum came, we brought it into our classroom. That classroom damn awesome man, got drum set, keyboard, 2 electric guitars, 1 violin and 1 bass guitar on standby at the back there, haha, 1st time i see such thing. Our maths teacher got shocked when saw all those instruments and i was late for every class on that day, haha. When we trained, it got better and at 3 something, we continued our training, awesome. But here's where the real prob started for me, lol. the bass part was ok but we added really kinda a lot of rolling part (for an amateur like me la) and having 2 hours left, i had to remember those part and timing to enter verse and chorus, tough yet possible. So, we train full time for the next 2 hours and had to bring the instruments, oh ya, not forgetting 3 amplifiers to the grand hall in that college, the event venue. At there, we didnt have the chance to have the stage rehearsal but we just ignored and had our time doing our own stuffs. That time 7 something and waited until 8+ cuz dinner and prayers. Finally the event started and our course make a lot of noise as usual although the number is small (mostly the guys la, the girls all damn quiet 1, /e5 case, lol). Not that i like noisy girls la but make noise la when the the noise suits the environment, make it more alive. We were the 9th team to perform. So, we watched the 1st team 1st. Frankly, this team's performance was damn good man. They perform damn cekap. We watched until the 6th team perform oni, among them, got 2 or 3 teams quite good but some quite boring la. Then, we practiced outside but not the band la (our stuffs all at back stage), only the sketch team. Our performance is connected to the sketch though cuz in the sketch, everyone wants to watch concert. Finally our turn, the sketch team went on 1st (cuz we end it with the band). Then, reach our turn, see the crowd, wa seh but not nervous also. Then, we started it off with me of cuz, cuz drummer ma, haha. The band went ok i think but i did a few mistakes too but the overall mistake was not having the stage rehearsal cuz after band they said couldn't listen to singer until the solo part. Means we should've tried it beforehand to confirm it, /e5 case. But nvm, we had our 1st live debut, wahahahaha. Anyway, i liked my starting and ending, it was great, ending especially, cuz i ended it perfectly, the part where ppl hit the drums from left to right and end it with a loud "chiang!" that kind. Based on the failed PA, we thought we lost d but you know la, when my course's mood always down that time ah, we sure win 1. So, in the end, we won the prize best performance, fui seh. Got 5 of this prize without having a distinction on the ranking. Then, mood up back d, just like that, lol. Before that, we returned the drum set.
After that, packing and we went back to ta pao mcd and ate near the guardhouse. There got place to sit 1, so we 1 group sat there at like 12 something, nearly to 1am or already past, not that sure and talk crap while eating burgers. Some part probably we laughed too loud d but nvm la, the guard didnt give us warning or anything also, so it's ok. Also, that's the 1st time i saw a cat climbing tree. I knew they could do it but 1st time seeing it. The cat didnt climb fully you know, it got shocked when see us and suddenly ran to the tree and climbed it half way, means hanging on the tree like a koala bear while looking at us. After awhile, it went back down. Suddenly another problem came out, gg. This 1 is the keyboard adapter, no one realized it wasnt taken back and we had to apologize to the senior cuz that senior's friend wanted to practise it before sleeping as next day is a busy day for her and she had to play it at night for the church thingy. Fuh, that 1 big trouble. So, we ready a plan and went back to the grand hall the following day, found nothing and went to HEP and also found nothing. Suddenly, an sms came saying that our keyboard player was holding on to it all the time, it was like wtf....... we worried over nothing. Lack of communication but no one actually expected that, lol. Then, returned it in the afternoon. Basically, we lacked sleep for that 3 days and my class was so peaceful with me sleeping and being sleepy in class. Teacher pulak keep asking i having fever or not, /e5.
This week, i came back to Taiping. It was to KK 1st cuz cousin's wedding. That night not her wedding la but the 1 to treat those maybe unable to make it to the wedding the following day 1, at the same time, fostering bond and so on la. KK's journey is supposed to take 3 hours, in the end it took 4 hours. I was kinda furious in the final hour cuz they can reach there in 3 hours but take 4, wtf man. 2ndly, i wanted to reach there before my family reach there so that they dont have to wait for me cuz bus station got nothing to do nor nothing to see 1 wert especially at night. In the end, they arrived 1st, swt but anyway, proceeded to my cousin's house. Thanks to the splendid detour. At 1 rest area, the fellow tell us to board the bus next to us, telling us "bas ini akan terus masuk ke KK". After entering that bus, he took us to Chemor, Pasir Salak and Salak. I inside the bus there was like wtfing all the time. That bloody fellow lied to me, stop so many times and he told me "akan terus masuk to KK", damn you. If don't have that detour of going everywhere in Perak, i would've reach there faster d la wei. At my cousin's house, after all the callings (call aunty, uncle and all those stuffs, luckily i still remember which is which, lol), straight sapu the buffet food man. I took like 3 rounds cuz my lunch was just chocolate bread, standby for this d. The laksa sucked cuz of the mee problem. Other than that, it's all pretty fine. Then, my bro and me were persuaded to sing song, always 1 wei, sure kena 1 when they see us. My bro escaped it but my uncle damn pro, damn persistent. Come and say "come la, uncle and nephew sing together". That 1 was like the ulti line d wei. If i reject, it's like disrespecting him ad man. So, have to la. Since i dunno all their old songs, we sang Westlife song together. Westlife also can say like quite old d la, in fact damn old d la, lol. So, couldn't really remember how their song is like but still can la. Before that, while we were eating, some of them sang pretty badly and i couldn't stop myself from laughing at them, lol. Walao, i keep tahan you know, lol, in the end, the laughter leaked out a little cuz damn teruk la. Imagine like 3 songs being sang in a way that the 1st song, pitching all out, 2nd song, english song sang by a chinese educated person (really funny ingerrish) and 3rd song is like cannot sing that song, forcefully wanna do it. I mean who can tahan la, all the combo stacked up together like that. The part when i sang, fuh, damn ganas weh, the thing is that i'm not familiar with the westlife song intro and screwed it up a bit. I sang the 1st part 1st, then my uncle enter the 2nd part. The gg part is my uncle damn pro in singing man, even I myself can see the difference man, lol. It's like elephant and cat weh, bloody. Then, my sis laughed at me, celaka her (probably cuz i laugh at other ppl, in the end, i roughly same standard, haha). But after that, went to the chorus part d, fuh, that time i suddenly damn pro d cuz familiar with that part of the song. It was so energetic, full of spirit and as if it was sang by 2 pro singers until the crowd's attention was caught, what to do la, this is what happen when too pro. That time, my sister got no reason wanna laugh d, instead she who was so amazed by my singing came and took our picture. After the song ended, kena persuade lagi for another song, i who was quite boring there took the offer and sang another song, westlife also (it seems like that's the only band that connects the old and new generation together, takkan you expect our parents go sing Linkin Park or Lady Gaga song with us meh?). Imagine your uncle would sing the part "ga ga ga ga ga ga ga" of the Poker Face song, that'll be... quite weird aint it? haha. Then, sing finish d, continue with my sudoku game cuz there really damn boring d after eating finish. No one to talk to also cuz interest all different and not close to any of them at all. In fact, i dunno who's the 1 marrying also but i know the name, lol, epic fail cousin. It was really boring cuz i was able to settle more than 5 sudoku sets, hard 1 la of cuz but not that super hard 1, super hard 1 i couldn't solve. Those kinda sets requires guessing, damn shit 1, if your 1st guess wrong, the following answers based on that also very likely wrong d. Then, you have to go back to square 1, that's the zzz part of it and very waste time 1 but it you could solve it, you'll be very satisfied and it makes you wanna praise yourself "why i so smart ah?", something like that but since i haven't solve that kinda sets all by myself, couldn't praise myself, /e5. After that, go home lo and straight on anime spree, wahahahaha. Damn a lot of new anime, for that band performance, i sacrificed 2 days of animes, so 1 shot settle all. K, that's all for now.
